All but one rugby match washed out in deluge
MOST of our rugby sides were left twiddling their thumbs on Saturday after a deluge of rain left pitches waterlogged.
In South West 1 West, North Petherton’s match at Sidmouth fell foul to the weather while their second string had to postpone their Somerset 1 match with St Bernadette’s Old Boys. The club has said both matches will be replayed on Saturday, February 2.
This weekend, the first team face welcome Paignton to Beggars Brook and the seconds travel to Wellington.
On Sunday, Pethy Veterans will be playing a match against Nailsea & Backwell Veterans. The match will take place at Nailsea & Backwell and kick-off is at 1.30pm.
Meanwhile, Bridgwater & Albion 2nds versus Castle Cary fell foul to the weather ahead of this Saturday’s trip to St Bernadette’s Old Boys.
In Somerset 2 South, Albion 3rd XV were due to play Tor 2nds at home until the rain left puddles across the pitch. They look forward to taking on Crewkerne away this weekend.
Morganians also had their match with Wiveliscombe 2nds postponed.
