AFTER having a virtually full fixture list last week, Taunton & District Saturday League was hit by the weather again with just three games beating the rain.

In the Somerset Junior Cup, there were five teams scheduled to play in the last 16 but only one match survived, with Highbridge hosting Bishops Lydeard.

The spoils went to the away side who won 2-1 thanks to goals from Dave Richardson and Simon Littlewood, with Rich Probert getting the home side’s goal.

In League Division 2, Porlock were far too good for Staplegrove Reserves on the day wining 5-1 with the perfect hat-trick scored by Adam Langdon – left foot, right foot, header – with Gary Bennett and Tom McCarthy adding the other two. Scott Reynolds scored for Staplegrove.

It was one-way traffic in Division 4 at Milverton where they beat Norton Fitzwarren 6-0, increasing their lead at the top of the table to six points.

Steve White was the leading marksman with a hattrick, while Mike Radford, Tom Warren and Cy Rich all added a goal apiece.
