Bridgwater Ladies 1st 3, Minehead 1
BRIDGWATER came out with plenty of energy and quickly had their opposition pushed back into a defensive position. Following several short corners without success Lucy Burridge's strike was stopped by a foot on the line and a penalty stroke awarded. Captain Charlie Lewis stepped up and scored her first followed quickly by her second, with a rocket of a shot into the top right corner.
Minehead snatched a goal midway through the second half but Burridge scored Bridgwater's third as she lifted her shot over the diving Minehead keeper.
Next Saturday the Ladies travel to take on Winscombe.

Bridgwater Ladies 2nd 2, Bridgwater Mens 5th 1
LADIES keeper Sam Hutter thwarted early chances for the men but eventually the deadlock was broken with Lucy Burridge striking the ball from a short corner.
Despite chances for Ben Squires and Dave Dosson to equalise, it was the ladies who doubled their lead with debutant Shula Hutter touching the ball on to Jenny Hayden-Briffett who calmly put the ball into the net.
Squires pulled a goal back for the men with a fine shot but it was to no avail as the score remained 2-1 in favour of the ladies.
Players of the match were Ben Squires and Laura Coles.

Bridgwater Mens 4th 3, Bridgwater Mens 3rd 8
THE 4s were soon 2-0 down in under a minute, as sloppy passes found strikers who were able to bury the chances.
Davidge slammed home a short corner to halve the deficit before he and Rawles scored again to put the 4s 3-2 up halfway through the first half.
The 3s started to pass the ball and equalised through a tap in from a Brad Palmer save that rebounded back out into play. This was followed by a controversial goal as the 3s held a half time advantage.
The second half started much like the first as the 3s scored within 30 seconds which rather set the tone for the second half as they ran out 8-3 winners.
