WATER Polo is set to make a splash in Taunton for the first time.

Coach Rose Younger, a former Great Britain captain and goalkeeper, said: “The water polo section at Taunton Deane Swimming Club started in a small way with no equipment, using dustbins as goals.

"But after a few short months numbers have grown to the point that we need a bigger pool with facilities.

"The club has now brought proper goals and equipment and the training sessions have been switched from the Keeling Pool at Taunton School to the pool in St James Street where we have two sessions each Sunday.

"The juniors start at 6pm and the seniors at 7pm. All are welcome irrespective of swimming experience. You don't need to be a great swimmer but enjoyment of ball games is a must.

“Water polo is considered to be the most demanding of all sports. So if you think you are hard ... come and give water polo a try.”
