BERROW boss Ryan McErlain reviews his side's first half of the season as they approach the Christmas period.
He said: “I have been very pleased with how it has all gone so far despite a little blip of late, the squad have regrouped and showed great attitude.
“We've had great turn outs at training and full squad to pick from for every game.
“The club have made some excellent signings in the shape of Kyle McErlain, Connor Watts, Ian Bellinger, Stuart Green and Jack Radford all of which have settled in very well.
“Most importantly we've driven down the average age of the squad by signing some talented young players that have strengthened the squad as a whole, reflected in the recent good form of the Reserves.
“I've been particularly pleased with performances of Pete John, Josh White and Ash Harrison and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season and trying to maintain our position at top end of the league.”
McErlain also felt the Reserves have dramatically improved over the past few weeks.
He said: “Despite a relatively poor start to the season, they are now four matches unbeaten and have been boosted by the return of several players who have a wealth of first team experience in the shape of Steve Osgood who is looking to build his fitness after a broken collar bone, Chris Warner who is available weekends now after joining the Royal Navy, James Reddish, James Gass, Tom Marshfield and Ash Catlow who have all been in and around the first team squad this season.
“To add to this there have been encouraging performances from youngsters Mike Green and Jonny Rawlings who look to have a bright future with the club.
“We are hoping that the team can push for promotion to the Somerset county league in the second half of the season.”
The club would like to wish all their supporters a merry Christmas and a prosperous 2013.
