Somerset County League Premier

Berrow 3, Watchet Town 1

BERROW took all three points with a decent performance at home to Watchet on Saturday.

With Connor Watts and Ian Bellinger unavailable due to injury and work, Jack Radford and Stuart Green made their first starts for the club with Scott Lismore also starting for the first time since his return to the club. Ellis Harper also returned to the side after completing a three-match ban.

The visitors took the lead after a succession of corners that were not dealt with but from this point Berrow dominated the game and played some of their best football of the season.

Stuart Green caused all kinds of problems up front and when his header was saved skipper Jeff Read was on the spot to force the ball home for his third goal in as many games.

A good move down the right between Pete John and Radford ended with green crossing for Luke Morgan to head home from eight yards to make it 2-1.

Harper and Radford went close to extending the lead before Josh White powered home a header from a Luke McErlain corner.

The second half was again dominated by Berrow and but for two excellent stops from the Watchet keeper from Read and offside decisions awarded by the away sides linesman, it would have been a far more emphatic score line.

Luke McErlain had the best effort but struck the bar with a 20-yard free kick as Berrow comfortably clinched the three points.
