THE wait is almost over for fans of the Somerset Rebels as they will find out tonight (Thursday) the seven that will carry the club's colours into the 2013 season.

The names will be revealed at a social evening arranged by the Somerset Riders' Equipment Fund at the Oaktree.

Promoter Debbie Hancock said: “With the 2012 team being over the 42.50 points limit required for the start of the 2013 season, it does mean that there will be some changes to the line-up and although it would have been nice to have kept the septet that won us the League Cup and came so close to that League title, that, unfortunately, isn't to be, so there will be the inevitable changes to the team.

“In saying that though, I think we have put a team together that will be more than capable of challenging for honours once again as well as being an entertaining one out on track to maintain the Somerset tradition of recent years, so hopefully we'll have a good number of fans along to the social evening to be the first to hear just who will be wearing the Somerset colours next season.”

Prior to the start of the new season, however, the club have their Salt Express sponsored 'Christmas Cracker' meeting on Friday, December 28, and it is also hoped that the final four names to complete the 16-rider field will also be announced at tonight's meeting.
