TOWN's joint boss Dave Pople urged his side to keep level headed for their double header this week despite their purple patch of form.

In their last five league outings, Town have won 3-0, 1-0, 1-0, 2-0 and 2-0 - a run which lifts them into 10th place and five points adrift of the play-offs.

But Pople said: “We don't want to get carried away, we need to just take each game as it comes and keep trying to do the right things.”

Bridgwater face bottom of the table Yate Town tonight (Tuesday) which may see the return of former players Ollie Barnes and Danny Wring.

Then on Saturday, North Leigh are the visitors to Fairfax Park and Pople said his team should not expect two easy games.

He said: “Yate will be a tricky match as they are in a false position because of their cup run so we need to work hard as we have done the last four to six games.

“We will of course look to win both games but I would be happy with four points from the two matches.”

Kick-off is 7.45pm at Fairfax Park tonight and 3pm on Saturday.

*FORWARD Stan Paxton made the switch from Devon side Willand Rovers last week and featured for 20 minutes on Saturday.

The 21-year-old has also played for Barnstaple Town where he was the North Devon side's top goalscorer for two of the three previous seasons.

Pople said: “We lost Dave Pearse so we were a player missing and he will bring some fresh legs to the team but he knows he will have to wait for his chance.”
