Wedmore Golf Club couple celebrate awards

THE husband and wife team of Nick and Carole Pope, at the Isle of Wedmore Golf Club, are celebrating their success after the annual Pro Shop Europe Awards which are presented at the prestigious Wentworth Golf Club each November.

It's not the first time Wedmore Golf Performance Centre has featured in these awards as last year they collected the Runner Up spot in the Pro Shop of the Year.

This year the Centre was not only nominated in three categories but was short listed in them too.

At the end of the evening, Nick and Carole were celebrating with a second successive showing in the Pro Shop of the Year where they picked up third spot. Nick also finished third in the Junior Coach of the Year category after six of his junior members being selected for the Somerset Junior Coaching Academy.

Carole, who has just completed the three year PGA Foundation Degree, scooped the runner up spot in the PGA Assistant Golf Professional of the Year.

Wedmore Golf Performance Centre at the Isle of Wedmore Golf Club is open seven days a week to members and public from 8am to 4.30pm.
