11:32am Monday 26th November 2012 in Sport
Bridgwater Town's Fairfax Park waterlogged on Saturday morning shortly before their match to Winchester City was abandoned.
SPORTING fixtures across our region were decimated after heavy prolonged left football and rugby pitches looking more like lakes.
Bridgwater Town were due to face Winchester City at Fairfax Park but it was a simple decision for the referee after a Saturday morning inspection and the match was called off.
All the Somerset County League matches were abandoned including Middlezoy Rovers and it was a complete washout in both the Taunton and District Saturday League and the Uxella Bridgwater Sunday League football matches as pitched were left unfit and underwater.
In rugby, Bridgwater and Albion's second team were called off, North Petherton's first team had their match against Clevedon abandoned and their second string's match away to Clevedon 2nds was also off.
Morganians league match against Crewkerne also victim to the wet weather.
