BRIDGWATER Town boss Kevin Milsom said it has been a frustrating week for his side after both their scheduled matches fell foul to the weather.

Town were due to face Frome Town in the Red Insure Cup and then Winchester City at home in the league until heavy rain left both grounds underwater.

Milsom said: “We have not had chance to do any training, one because of the water on the ground and also because it would be a logistical nightmare trying to get the team to travel all together.

“We said to the lads that they need to look after themselves this week and we trust them to do that.

“We would have love to keep playing because we are playing really well and you do get frustrated by it.

“I feel really sorry for the groundsman because he is working really hard to prepare a pitch but the weather and the amount of games being played on it are not making it conducive for Southern League football.”

The team are planning to play the re-arranged fixture at Frome tomorrow night (Wednesday) ahead of a trip to Didcot Town in the league on Saturday.

Chris McGrath and Kye Mountford still have to serve a one-match suspension for picking up five bookings this season.
