Somerset 2S
Burnham II 27, Wyvern 0
BURNHAM produced a dogged performance against Wyvern to pick up their fifth win of the season.
In the early stages, Burnham dug in and resisted any pressure by the home side to get into their game stride.
Burnham opened the scoring with a penalty following good work from James Oz who broke out up the wing with Will Grant and the penalty was slotted over by Ben Gibb.
Wyvern responded but after another yellow card, Burham’s number 9 Lee Berry unleashed Chris Lee who saw off two Wyvern centres before passing to Ben Gibb who crashed over for the first try, converted, for a 10-0 half-time lead.
In the second half, Burnham scored three tries to ensure they picked up a bonus point win.
On Saturday, the team are at home for a clash with nearby rivals Bridgwater & Albion. Kick-off is 2.30pm.
