ESFA Cup 3rd Round

The Thomas Hardye School (Dorchester) U15 2, King Alfred's U15 3

THE boys went into the game full of confidence which resulted in an early goal as Charlie Harding tried his luck from distance and the ball ending up through the keepers grasp and into the bottom corner.

This sparked Hardye into life and the back four and goalkeeper McDairmid had to be on top form to repel some of the opposition's attacks. However, after the ball was lost cheaply in midfield, a chance was conceded, converted brilliantly and the tie was level going into half time.

King Alf's took the lead again when Kidner was played in through the right channel and he buried the ball low to the keeper's near post and went 3-1 up from Harding who produced a cool finish inside the box.

Hardye made it 3-2 with ten minutes to go but King Alf's held on for an away tie at Backwell.
