FOLLOWING the flying start they got to their season last week, Taunton will be hoping for more of the same when they race next Thursday (November 15) when the first of the seven races goes to post at 1.10pm.

Over recent years England’s youngest jumps course has been one of the most generous fixtures for prize money and next week the runners will be bidding for a slice of the £35,000 prize pot.

The make-up of the big race of the day – which could be a hurdle or a chase – will be decided shortly by an interactive forum of the trainers. It will be worth £9,000 and be sponsored by Bathwick Tyres.

The BHEST (British Horseracing Educational Standards Trust) will be here hosting pupils from Thurlbear Primary School who will be presenting the prizes after the race.

Local business Setsquare Recruitment will also sponsor the Class 3 Hurdle Race worth £8,000.
