AN individual speedway meeting will be held at the home of the Somerset Rebels this Christmas.
The format of the meeting will be that of 16 riders competing over 20 heats for the title on Friday, December 28.
Meeting co-ordinator Garry May said: “Our initial plans are for a traditional 16 rider, 20 heat format, but depending on how things progress with the planning and organisation of the meeting we could well add in a semi-final and grand final, which will bring added excitement to the event.”
“We have already had many riders including some from the Elite League verbally agree to ride in the meeting, and we might even have a rider competing who, to the best of my knowledge, has never ridden speedway in the UK before.
“The actual meeting will get underway at 7pm, but we are looking to make it more of an event than just the meeting itself. Details of these added attractions will be released over the course of the next few weeks.”
