Bridgwater Jupiter 59, Wyndham 24

AFTER a difficult start at Wyndham, league leaders Jupiter adapted their game and began to work as a team, leading the first quarter 11-8.

Baylea Charles (C) and Imma Matcham (WD) worked tirelessly in defence and gained many turnovers for Jupiter which were capitalised by Sammy Kemmish (GS) with her accurate shooting. Jupiter led the first half of the game 28-14.

Despite Wyndham’s efforts to push play forward, they were unsuccessful due to timely interceptions and effective communication by the efficient Jupiter team.

Becky Cowley (GD) continued to pressurise Wyndham’s shooters, and excellently-timed movements in the circle by player-of-the-match Rosie Hill (GS) allowed Jupiter to push on and win the match.

Saturn 37, Sharks 45

WITH a new team line out Saturn struggled to find their feet, allowing Sharks to take advantage ending the first half 25-12.

With changes made, a positive Saturn team came back out fighting with some precise and impressive shooting from Becky Palmer (GA) and Rachael Selway (GS).

The determination and strength flowed throughout the court with vital tips from Sammie Woolacott (C) and outstanding defending from joint players of the match Katie Chedzoy (GD) and Sally Haysham (GK).

Venus 31, Quantock 44

VENUS started the game slowly ending the first quarter trailing 6-12.

The game saw some persistent defensive work from Mary King and player-of-the-match Morgan Middleton, allowing for Venus to pull back slightly.

In the third quarter, some great centre court play from Chris Shaw and Cath Clark allowed for some great shooting from Karis Holleron and Paige Langdon.

Mars 28, Walton 55

MARS started the game slowly finishing the first quarter 10-14 down. However, this didn’t stop Mars from fighting for possession.

Great attacking play from the centre court consisting of Courtney Steele, Paige Davey and Lily Rowland, enabled Kayleigh Haste to put up some accurate shots. Going into the second half 32-16 down, Mars made some changes but Walton maintained their lead. However great play from centre Megan Smith and defence from Kat Jay and Saskia Middleton stopped Walton from gaining as many goals and giving Mars a point.

Joint players of the match: Megan Smith and Saskia Middleton.

Mercury 63, Walton Green 33

MERCURY started off well with great shooting by Paige Davey (GS) and Norah Lewis (GA).

Accurate and hard passing from Courtney Steele (C) and Lucy Kyte (WA) kept the ball feeding into attack. Working hard to keep the opposition out were Steph Riordan (WD), player of the match Alisha Gardener (GD) and Victoria Saban (GK).
