IN the Taunton & District Saturday League Knock-Out Cup First Round, North Petherton beat Wembdon Saints 3-1 thanks to two goals from Brady Hart and one from Lewis Irish, Jason Hitchcock replied for Saints.
SRL All Saints and Middlezoy Rovers Reserves won 3-1 as Dave Baker, Mark Pope and a Leighton Ballentine lob over the ’Zoy keeper made up the scoring. Marvin Portlock replied for Rovers.
Westonzoyland lost 3-0 to Alcombe Rovers and Nether Stowey exited the cup to the same scoreline against Locomotives.
In Division 1, Predators missed out on the chance to catch Locomotives as they suprisingly lost 8-2 to Staplegrove, despite Carl Jones’ consolation brace.
Highbridge Town also lost in a 4-2 defeat to Bishops Lydeard with Stuart Green and Chris Lemarchand getting Town’s goals.
Division 2 saw Bridgwater Sports Reserves lose 4-0 to Minehead and in Division 3 Redgate let in 11 goals without any in reply against Blagdon Hill.
However, Wembdon beat Bishop’s Hull 2-1 thanks to Ben Cheffey and Josh Turner both netting, while Highbridge Town Reseres lost 2-0 to Stogursey.
In Division 4, Rhode Lane Wanderers suffered a hefty 8-1 defeat to Milverton Rangers, despite Sam Godfrey’s goal.
Bridgwater Sports Colts held league leaders Galmington Dragons to a point thanks to goals from Sam Puddy and Steve Redman.
North Petherton Reserves edged a narrow 1-0 win over Porlock Reserves after Jason Mantyk netted and The Gallery are now up to third after their 7-0 convincing win over Morganians. Apart from Jamie Evans who scored two goals, the rest were spread around with Shane Thompson, Jason McPheat, James Gibbs, Dan Addicott and Andy Staunton all adding a goal apiece.
Division 5 saw Woolavington draw 3-3 with Tone Youth with goals from Josh Corkett, Simon Coombes and Jake Chidgey.
Middlezoy Athletic lost 3-2 to Exmoor Rangers, despite goals for Lee Horsey and Sam Murray, and Nether Stowey had a 3-1 win over Bridgwater Grasshoppers – Josh Johnson netted twice and Dean Marchent once, Andrew Dare scored for Grasshoppers.
Wembdon Saints lost 7-2 to East Bower after Adam Knight scored a hat-trick as did George Wilkinson and Sean Fletcher added one, with Brad Walford and Jack Gardner replying for Saints.
