TOWN striker Dave Pearse has announced his departure from the club ahead of a switch to Tiverton Town.

Pearse joined the club at the start of last season and is the club’s third top scorer this season with three goals to his name.

He told the Mercury: “I want to say thank you to everyone involved at the club – the managers, players and supporters.

“I have enjoyed my time at Bridgwater but feel it’s time to move on.”

Joint boss Kevin Milsom said he was particularly disappointed with the news, describing Pearse as a ‘massive loss’.

He added: “Dave is a really nice lad and a Bridgwater lad so it is disappointing he is leaving.

“He will be missed because he was a big personality and a good footballer.”

All you had to do, was speak to Dave Pearse on the night he was benched. Suicidal decision, now we will suffer - as we already did on Saturday. Now we have no one with any get and go - the replacement on Saturday was half as good - didn't push hard enough.
Oh well, I suppose we will loose another game tomorrow.

Dave was a loyal local lad , the last one ,!another good Drayer signing gone , ive enjoyed watching his whole heartedness , will score you 10 or 12 , but no chris young .. but all the same there are zero bridgwater players in the squad something the club has prided itself for 20 years , i dont blame the present management for the demise even though , milsom has brought the sistuation on himself ,he really hasnt a clue..
but it has to come down to the ageing moaning comittee , but we supporters have been saying it for years ...

a new committee , bring back laird and Dray , there contacts in conf couth and south prem will bring good players , plus all local lads will come back and play , then the youth will come through , but we can dream !

My advice for any footballer with talent in this town is to get out of B/W.
Football in this town is in its own little bubble.

Well, what a turn up for the books. Change the starting 11 and they win. Almost the same start as at Hemel. Lets hope the same 11 will start on Saturday. Its seems to be a starting 11 that can win.
