Westfield 3, Burnham United 1

A DECIMIATED Burnham United squad where knocked out of the league cup at the weekend after a number of unavailability's and late pull outs.

Despite this, the squad was still strong enough to warrant a decent performance, but unfortunately on the day the opposition proved too strong for a United team playing an unfamiliar formation.

Burnham asked some questions of the home side in the opening ten minutes and thought they had taken the lead when Keirle glanced a great header into the back of the net only for it to be ruled out for offside. Westfield came back at Burnham and their dominance told as they scored two goals to make a very one sided first half 2-0 to the home side.

The team where given a dressing down at half time but they responded well in the second half, despite conceding from the spot they managed to grab a consolation through Scott and had several other chances to score in a half that United edged.
