Gemini CC sweep the board at Ilminster Carnival

GEMINI Carnival Club swept the board at Ilminster Carnival on Saturday night with its excellent tableau Race Time, Starlight Express.

The award-winning club picked up another large haul of cups to go alongside those won at Wellington the previous weekend.

Now all eyes are on Chard when it holds its Carnival this Saturday.

But Ilminster Carnival organisers were delighted with the success of their show.

“The Carnival went really well,” said Carnival spokesman Gemma Champion. “We would like to thank everyone who supported the Carnival – especially our Carnival Princess, Aimee Bird, for doing a great job all week and in the Carnival.”

Gemma reported, however, that the Carnival collection was down slightly on 2011 with £3,600.

But she said: “We were down on collectors this year.”
