Cider sampling tastes good at Hinton
9:00am Tuesday 2nd October 2012 in Somerset
CIDER makers and cider enthusiasts crammed into the village hall for the fourth and most successful Cider Sampling to date.
Cider expert and author Alan Stone formally opened the event and signed copies of his recently published book In Search of Cider, and more than £500 was raised for the village church and hall.
Joint organiser Matthew Bryant said: “A great range of cider makers from three counties, including such well-known names as Burrow Hill and Perry’s, were showing alongside newer enterprises including the West Milton Cider Company and Tricky’s Cider from the Blackdown Hills.
“In addition to the cider makers, we are very grateful for the support of North Perrott Fruit Farm and Hinton St George businesses Our Shop, Dorothy’s Tea Room and Hinton Harvest.
"Crooked Furrow provided a lively musical backdrop to the evening with their ever-popular traditional music.”
