Car burns in Wellington crash

A CAR burst into flames after smashing into a tree in the early hours of the morning (September 15).

The vehicle left the carriageway at Old Way Road, Wellington, at 3.15am.

A spokesman for the fire service said: "Upon arrival crews confirmed one car well alight and used two breathing apparatus wearers, three hose-reel jets and a thermal imaging camera to establish that there was no-one in the vehicle and deal with the fire."
