Villa adding spice to Chard

SHAKIL Hassan ready to welcome customers to the opening night of Spice Villa.
A NEW Indian restaurant enjoyed a busy opening night in Chard.
The Spice Villa on High Street opened on Thursday, September 6, and proved a roaring success.
Owner Shakil Hassan was delighted to welcome 46 people on the night, who were all given a glass of champagne and rose, and amongst those there was Mayor of Chard Cllr Cathie Morrison and consort Jim.
Shakil said: “I would like to thank those who came on the night and look forward to seeing more customers and friends in the weeks ahead.”
Also attending was Cllr Garry Shortland, chair of the Chard Town Team, something Shakil hopes to get involved with. MP David Laws was also invited and was unable to attend due to his promotion, but will be visiting later in the month.
