THE cycling bug has hit Taunton following Team GB’s phenomenal success at London 2012 – and people are getting on their bikes in Longrun Meadow.

Among riders testing their balancing skills on the new open-air cyclogym are Staplegrove Scouts, with one of them pictured negotiating some of the obstacles.

Chris Owen, of the Friends of Longrun Meadow, said: “It’s great fun and, after a few practice runs, the scouts managed to successfully complete most of the ramps.

“I’m sure the activity could be included in a weekly cub or scout programme, either as a fun activity of a competition between the youngsters.”
