ENTRIES to Woolavington Show were up by almost 25% this year – with more children entering to scoop top prizes.

Organisers said 400 people attended the event, which included refreshments, a barbecue and a performance by the Chameleon Batonettes.
Parish clerk Richard Young said: “It was a lovely day out and the weather was good.
“There were a lot of children entering paintings this year. That’s thanks to Burnham Dreamscheme and the Woolavington Rural Activities Project which added the categories to their programmes.

“We gave out WH Smith vouchers as prizes.

“There were tombolas, raffles, books, bric-a-brac, a car boot sale and hand-made greeting cards. These helped to raise £780 so far for the Village Hall Fund.”
