THE annual Chardstock Gardening Club Flower and Vegetable Show was a glowing and colourful success despite a difficult growing season.
A record 69 entrants brought a huge total of 522 individual exhibits to the show.
The children’s classes were very well supported and included paintings from the pupils of St Andrew's Primary School, lit professionally by John Cloke.
The standard of entries in all the classes was very high and covered flowers, vegetables, handicraft and cookery.
During the afternoon, the show society’s chairman, Jonathan Milford, introduced the guest presenters of the cups and trophies, Simon Skipper and Malcolm Cowan, licensees of the George Inn in Chardstock.
Mr Milford thank show secretaries Angela Drake and Penny Coveney, and everyone who supported the event, including committee members, exhibitors and sponsors, such as Suttons Seeds, who donated the prize cards.
