A CLUB which provides children in Burnham with activities will soon be embarking on a business venture.

Burnham Dreamscheme has launched its new social enterprise of 'badge making' by using cash granted by the Diamond Jubilee Youth Trust to buy a £400 badge-making machine.

The club will be honing their skills and approaching other clubs, groups, organisations and special events to offer custom-made badges which will help raise cash for the Dreamscheme and provide the children with business experience.

John Alexander, leader of the Dreamscheme, told the Mercury: “We received a grant of £250 which helped us to buy our first machine.

“We bought it to teach children about business and also to raise funds for our group, which goes to pay for treats thanking children for doing good work in the community.

“The children can design the badges and create them. They love it. We can make badges, key rings, fridge magnets and mirrors and we've already had our very first order, negotiated by one of the children.”

Anybody who would like to know more about the badge making service can contact John on 07961049868.
