East Quay Medical Centre wins active gold award

STAFF at East Quay Medical Centre in Bridgwater have won an award for getting physically active in the run-up to the Olympic Games.

The surgery won the NHS Sport and Physical Activity Gold Award, after its staff completed 228,691 minutes of activities, and lost 6stone 9lbs between them.

The team, led by deputy practice manager Sue Hughes, took part in activities ranging from scuba diving to archery, and sailing to cheerleading.

The most ambitious staff members cycled from London to Paris, or took part in the London Marathon.
