ROBERT Blake Science College has awarded 53 of its year 10 students their prefect ties and badges.

Students can apply to be appointed a prefect if they are good role models by exhibiting excellent attendance, grades, punctuality and behaviour.

The students appointed to the most senior roles are Jack Griffiths (Head Boy), Molly Keirle (Head Girl) and James Chin and Sam Folland as deputies.

These students swap their green blazers for a black one.

Head teacher Ann Winter said: “Some 75 students applied to be prefects – more than 50% of the year group – which indicates how important it is to the students.

“The Year 10 prefects will set even higher standards for students – ready for our move to the new school.”
