THE rural economy on Exmoor received a boost after a business centre has opened at Wheddon Cross.
The Market Enterprise Centre, which was funded by Somerset County Council, consists of seven industrial units.
Leases on two of the units have been taken by MK Autos, which offer car repairs and services, and Dods of London Ltd, which produces custom-made shepherds' huts.
Cabinet member for economic development, Cllr David Hall, said: “These units offer excellent facilities for small businesses to grow and develop right here on Exmoor.
“The launch is a really good news story for local communities. It will help contribute to a thriving and sustainable local economy.”
Businesses interested in taking one of the remaining units should contact Hatfield White at mail@hatfieldwhite.co.uk or on 01823-353033.
