OVER 100 people from various organisations heard about the support available to them at the Affordable Living, Warm Homes Keep You Well at Taunton’s County Ground.
The event, promoted by Somerset Advice Network, along with Money Matters in Somerset and the Warm Homes Keep You Well initiative, aimed to encourage partnership working to ensure people are helped quickly.
There were presentations from NHS Somerset, the Somerset West Private Sector Housing Partnership, the Centre for Sustainable Energy, the Credit Unions, Ridgeway Care and Repair, the Money Advice Service and the Employment Service.
Somerset County Council, working with Somerset NHS and the district councils, has obtained funding this winter from the Department of Health to help people who are feeling cold in their home.
A variety of organisations working with vulnerable people have been brought together to offer practical help and advice to people suffering from cold and damp homes.
