RESIDENTS of the Malmesbury Court extra care scheme in Yeovil supported National Self Care Awareness week by hosting a day of physical, educational and taste testing activities.

They were treated to a morning ‘Flexicise’ session by Yarlington Housing Group’s extra care team leader James Lynch.

And they proved they were ‘alive and kicking’ through a series of flexibility exercises designed for older people.

In the afternoon they enjoyed by a talk from Peter Jenkins, of the Ceres Health food shop in Yeovil, where he covered remedies for sleeping problems, Annika gel to help with bruising, probiotics to help with replacement bacteria, herbal and natural remedies for constipation and urine problems and remedies for indigestion problems.

This was followed by a quiz, food tasting and guess the exotic fruit and vegetable. The event concluded with Yarlington employee James serving his homemade lentil soup and crusty bread.
