Watchet Library Friends raise over £500 for legal battle

A GROUP trying to save Watchet Library has raised more than £500 following a coffee morning.
Watchet Library Friends (WLF) is raising £9,000 for the Friends of Somerset Libraries legal fund and is now trying to raise the last £1,000 towards the target.
The event raised £551.72 in Watchet's Phoenix Centre on Saturday and WLF chairman Peter Murphy thanked everyone who attended.
He added: “Most of all, thank you to the good people of Watchet and the many visitors who came in and supported us and in doing so we were telling the county council not to close libraries.”
