A CANNINGTON businessman has won a Green Energy Award for turning waste food into electricity.
Tim Roe fought off competition from more than 100 entrants to win the award for the most pioneering renewable energy scheme in the South-West, for the renewable energy plant at his business, Cannington Cold Stores.
Tim said: “We’re delighted to have won this award. Our anaerobic digestion renewable energy plant shows what can be done with a little ingenuity and a lot of hard work.
“We’re proud to be one of the new generation of energy companies focused on creating green power for the UK.”
