YEOVIL MP David Laws celebrated the Oddments Theatre Company’s national success with a film preview last Friday evening.
The Yeovil-based group was asked to participate in a number of short films about the life of Jesus, to be used in religious education lessons across the country. The films were made at various locations both locally and nationally.
Mr Laws complimented the group on their achievement of serving the community for over 29 years and their vision to set up a year team to give young people the opportunity to serve the community through drama.
Cast, friends, and community leaders including Cllrs Pat and Ian Martin, of South Somerset District Council, attended the evening.
Oddments recently had a successful From a Distance production at the Swan Theatre in November.
The group’s next events are more local, with performances at a number of Yeovil schools followed by a performance at a national police conference at West Point, Exeter.
The group’s web site is www.oddments-theatre.co.uk or for more information phone 01935-433481.
