A FLAT in the Minehead house where iconic sci-fi author Arthur C. Clarke was born is up for sale.
Sir Arthur Charles Clarke was born in 13 Blenheim Road on December 16 1917.
And a flat in the historic house is being sold through Wilkie May and Tuckwood for an asking price of £109,950.
Sir Arthur was a British science fiction author, inventor and futurist and most fam-ous for writing the novel 2001: A Space Odyssey.
The book was written in collaboration with director Stanley Kubrick, a collaboration which also produced the film of the same name.
Sir Arthur grew up in Bishops Lydeard and started at the then Huish’s Grammar School – now Richard Huish College – in Taunton on his tenth birthday.
Sir Arthur emigrated to Sri Lanka in 1956 largely to pursue his interest in scuba diving and lived there until his death in March 2008. He was knighted by the British monarchy in 1998.
The first-floor one-bedroom apartment features a communal garden and off-road parking and overlooks Blenheim Gardens.
