AS Monday's dazzling procession got underway, the Weekly News hit the streets to find out what the public thought of the spectacular.
Despite the chilly conditions, many were warmed up by the stunning carts on show.
Here's what you had to say: Michael Hookway, 33, with young Charlie Hookway, from Highbridge, said: “I come here every year.
“The clubs put in so much effort and everybody gets a lot of enjoyment out of it.”
Beverley Leek, 53, from Devon, said: “We come up to see the Carnival as much as we can.
“It's just brilliant - the lights on the carts are great.”
Mary Spillsbury, 63, from Burnham, said: “There is so much work gone into the carts.
“It's an absolutely fantastic spectacle.”
Jon Glauert, 67, from Mark, said: “I'm amazed by the energy that goes into the entries and a lot of money goes to charity which is great.”
