A TAUNTON boy who suffers from epilepsy and cerebral palsy had a wish come true when he spent the day with some furry friends.

Tyler Stone had a special behind the scenes tour of Monkey World in Dorset with the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses.

Tyler is only able to communicate through sign language but gets excited and reacts to seeing the animals on TV.

His mum Claire Gamlin said: “Tyler loves animals and monkeys are his favourite.

“He collects them and has about 40 all over his room and he loved every minute of Monkey World.”

Tyler, his mum, sisters, Suzannah and Kerry Gamlin and brother, Brandon Stone were taken to the park in a stretch limousine, and enjoyed a tour with star of Channel Five’s Monkey Life, Mike Colbourne in a special golf buggy.

During the tour, Tyler was able to feed pet the Ring-Tailed Lemurs and helped prepare lunch for the Capuchin monkeys and helped feed the orang-utans and chimpanzees.

Tyler’s mum Claire says: “The day was just so brilliant, I can’t describe in words how great it was.

“Tyler has never laughed so much in his life- he was laughing all day long and it was so amazing to see him enjoy himself like that. “It was an amazing day, Tyler has got so much out of it and it’s something he will remember for a long time! I can’t thank Make-A-Wish enough.”
