UFO sightings over Taunton

THERE have been some strange goings-on in the night sky over Priorswood in Taunton this week.

On Monday at about 6.30pm Jane Nadoll reported seeing an orange light as she left work at the St Augustine of Canterbury School.

She said: “I glanced up and noticed an object slowly moving along at what I believe to be the height at which a light aircraft or helicopter would be - the difference was that it seemed to be glowing/pulsing.

“After a short time, it changed direction briefly, then moved back on to the original course, then changed direction and flew north in the direction of the Blackdown Hills.

“As it drew away, we noticed that it was glowing red, like a comet.”

Equally stumped was Sue Hardie, who noticed a strange light in the sky when she was in nearby Rochester Road the following evening.

She said: “A light was coming across the sky like a plane, quite low travelling from south to north.

“All of a sudden, after watching for 20 seconds, it stopped and wobbled, split in two, one light shot down and disappeared, and burned out, and the other one changed direction and headed off and its lights went out.”

*Has anyone else noticed anything unusual in the sky – or do you know what it was that caught Jane and Sue’s attention? Leave your comments below.

i was walking by beech grove school, wellington on the monday approximately 6.30 when I saw what appeared from the right hand side towards the blackdown hills, a large glowing orange/red spear which looked like it was being blown by the wind. I looked like a hot air balloon on fire. The bottom dropped out of site and the other part I lost site of amongst the trees.

At around 19:00 this evening I saw exactly the same thing as Sue Hardie saw, also above Rochester Road! It was like a star, only brighter and orange. It then spilt up, most of it disappeared while falling down and then one light moved away southwards, it looked like it was travelling pretty fast and was certainly too high up to be anything like a firework. It didn't resemble any aircraft. I have no explaination for what it was.

As my partner and I arrived home from work tonight at 18-45 we both noticed a bright orange glowing object moving across the sky traveling west to east in Trull Taunton.
It resembled a round ball-like shape which seemed to flicker as if it was on fire. There was no sound and it moved at a steady speed at the same height until it gradually faded out of sight. We would be interested to know if anyone else as seen this sighting tonight and any explanation as to what it could have been
