HARVEST Festival Celebrations attracted a multitude of worshippers, local people and visitors from Highbridge and its surrounding areas.
The parish church of St John the Evangelist held a Rock Communion, where a wide range of hymns and songs were accompanied by a top rock band.
The SJs - St John's Church youth group - provided a short drama and many different people delivered readings and prayers.
Rev Christine Judson said: “The whole thing was an amazing experience - one which was not only enjoyable, but also helped to give new meaning to familiar words.
“Harvest is a time to recognise how much we have, the wonder of all that we receive. As we do this we are painfully aware of how little some people have.
“The retiring collection from this harvest rock communion service raised over £100 for USPG to help make a difference for some.”
In Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America, USPG is enabling Anglican churches to reach out to poor communities by helping local churches run schools and hospitals, build houses and dig wells, and provide agricultural training for subsistence farmers.
