THE second concert in the Crewkerne Concert Series will feature some of Somerset’s best young musicians. 

They will be performing at Crewkerne Methodist Church on Saturday, July 6.

Mezzo soprano Molly Soo gained a distinction in her ABRSM diploma exam and is now studying for a music degree at Bath Spa University. She performs a range of music from Handel, Bach and Vivaldi to Elgar and Faure.

George Horgan is studying as a tenor at the prestigious Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama having also gained the ABRSM diploma with distinction when studying with singing teacher Julie Woollard.

He has been a member of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and is looking forward to singing the role of Frederick in Pirates of Penzance next year.

Another singer featured in the programme is soprano Samantha Chew who is a member of the Taunton based Phoenix Singers and will be joining the renowned Somerset Chamber Choir in the Autumn. She has studied singing with Julie Woollard for 9 years and has an ABRSM diploma with distinction.

Joining these singers will be trumpeter Hetty Christopher and flautist Amelia Donovan performing the famous Hummell Trumpet Concerto and the C. P. E. Bach Hamburger Sonata.
