IT was smiles all round during a visit to Bridgwater by the Duchess of York in May 1989.
The Duchess, Sarah Ferguson, visited the Admiral Blake Museum as part of her role as patron of Museums Year 1989.
She arrived in style, by helicopter, landing in Cranleigh Gardens at 3.30pm, before being driven to the Cornhill, where she was met by officials and a welcoming crowd of residents.
Officials said she was 'very impressed' by the museum.
