A WOMAN claims her family have been victims of online abuse after she posted images of her partner’s injuries after she claims he was robbed at knifepoint just meters from their back door.

Jo Radford from Burnham-on-Sea claims her partner, Peter Thompson, 31, was left with cuts to his face and hand after he was attacked with a knife and had his wallet stolen by five people while he was walking down an alleyway near Oxford Street at around 5.30am on Friday (April 19).

The 27-year-old mother of two said the incident has been reported to the police but claims the family has been met with online abuse with people saying that Peter’s injuries did not look severe.

She said: “We’ve had horrible comments made about the cuts to Pete’s face and hand. They made me feel upset and very angry at the same time.

“It frustrated me as I posted it was to warn others to be safe but no one seemed to see that.

“It doesn’t matter how big or small his cuts were it’s not a normal thing that should happen.”

Jo said the incident has left her wanting to move away from the area and worried about her children, who frequently play near the alleyway.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police, said they are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information about the incident.

“The incident happened at about 5.30am after the victim had left his house in Oxford Street and was walking down an alley nearby where there was a group of about five people,” the spokesman said.

“One of them assaulted the victim, causing minor cuts to his face and hand.

“The victim later discovered his wallet was missing.

There is no CCTV coverage of the incident.
