HUNDREDS of train enthusiasts flocked to Highbridge to enjoy a special model train exhibition.

On February 16 and 17, more than 250 people packed into The King Alfred School for the Sedgemoor Gauge 0 Railway Group's second annual model railway exhibition.

Traders from across the county set up stalls, showed off their model trains collections and sold new and used model trains to train enthusiasts.

Andy Jones, organiser of the event, said the event was a big success.

He said: "The model railway exhibition went really well, we had way more people than we expected.

"Around 290 train enthusiasts came to our exhibition and they all really enjoyed it.

"We had a variety of traders there who also had a really good time and we are already booked to come back next year.

"We have already had a lot of traders show interest in coming back next year and the spaces in the hall have almost all been booked up. It was a great weekend for us and we are looking forward to coming back next year."
