A BURNHAM-on-Sea opticians is supporting a campaign by Johnson & Johnson to take away used contact lenses, blister and foil packaging and recycle them into something new.
David Bull Optometrists is supporting the company’s scheme, which is free and available for any type or make of disposable soft contact lens.
David Bull, owner of David Bull Optometrists, said: “Any contact lens wearer who wants to make a difference to the planet should consider taking part.
“As a practice we are always looking to reduce our use of plastic and have recently introduced a reusable system for our spectacle lens cleaning solution which provides free refills for life to the original bottle after the initial supply.
“It has proved very popular.”
