A GROUP of dedicated volunteers hosted a coffee morning and raised more than £500 for MacMillan Cancer Research.
On Sunday (January 13) visitors piled in to Southwell House and Gardens in Church Street, Highbridge, and dipped into their pockets while eating a variety of delicious homemade to raise funds for the charity.
People of all ages enjoyed browsing around a number of stalls at the event including a knitting stall, a bric-a-brac stall and a raffle.
A spokesman for Southwell House and Gardens, said the event was a big success and thanked visitors for their donations.
“There was a steady flow of people throughout the day and visitors enjoyed the homemade cakes and stalls.
“We raised £80 on the day and one of our volunteers, Gina, hosted another event last year and raised £433.65 which was added to the total.
“We would like to thank our volunteers and to everyone who came and donated to the event.”
