THE Bridgwater Classic and Vintage Vehicle Club has been busy fundraising for charity this year.
The club holds several events throughout the year, with its two biggest attractions a two-day classic car event at the Morganians sports ground in Bridgwater and a classic car show held at the Beachside Holiday Park in Brean.
At the club's committee meeting this month, the team presented a series of cheques to local charities including £450 each to both St Margaret's Hospice and the Devon and Somerset Air Ambulance.
The latest presentations brings the total amount for donations for the year to good causes up to £1,716.
Air Ambulance fundraiser Colin Thomas thanked the committee, explaining how busy the recently upgraded air ambulance was, and how expensive it was to operate.
Teresa Gill from St Margaret's Hospice said; ”We are so fortunate to receive this donation from the Bridgwater Classic and Vintage Vehicle Club. It costs £500 per day for one patient to receive specialist care at our in-patient unit in Taunton.”
