TRIBUTE has been paid to talented artist Laura Biss whose death has prompted a murder inquiry.

The 34-year-old’s body was found on the B3139 Burnham Road, in Highbridge, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Friend Nick Tolley, who owns Nick Tolley Photography in Abingdon Street, Burnham-on-Sea, has been left saddened by her death.

He said: "I knew Laura as a client in the shop who immediately became a good friend that bought so much laughter and fun here whenever she called in.

“Laura was a talented artist and created beautiful, intriguing and individual pieces of art.

“She always bought them here to be copied so she could sell the originals and keep memories of her work.

“I’m so very sad for this tragic loss, my heartfelt sympathy goes out to all her family. May you paint the walls of heaven with your lovely images Laura."

Now Christopher Harris, 35, of no fixed address, has been charged with her murder.

A police spokesman said yesterday: "We’ve charged a 35-year-old man in connection with the death of a woman in Highbridge.

"He’s also been charged with (causing) death by dangerous driving.

"Laura was formally identified earlier today (January 22)."

Harris was remanded in custody to appear at Taunton Magistrates’ Court this morning.
