A WOMAN had to be cut free from a vehicle following a crash yesterday evening (Wednesday).

A passing motorist called the emergency services with reports of someone trapped following the incident on Silk Mills Road, Bishop's Hull, at 6.16pm.

Fire crews rushed to the two-vehicle crash, with one woman trapped in one of the cars.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "After liaising with on-scene paramedics, crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to remove one of the doors, for space creation, in order to allow for an effective extrication of the lady.

"Once released she was left in the hands of paramedics, as crews made both the vehicle and scene safe.

"The incident was brought under control at 7.03pm and duty of care was then with the police."
