A 15-year-old girl has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car on the A370.
Police were called at 7.45am today (December 13) to the A370 in East Brent after reports of a crash between a car and a pedestrian.
Officers closed the A370 East Brent following the incident but it has since reopened.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police, said: "We were called at 7.45am after a 15-year-old girl was hit by a car on the A370.
"We have a road closure in place from the traffic lights at East Brent as far as the junction with Edingworth.
"The girl was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries."
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
